Trip to Sorge

Some days ago, we went to an old Sanatorium in Sorge (which actually means SORROW in English).

Built in 1898, it was used as a TBC-Clinics until the late 1950s and rebuilt into a rehab-center for NVA-troops. It was used by the German Armed Forces until 1992, when it was given back to the Hospitallers, and lies abandoned since 2000...

2000? When we got there, we went: Wow. The destruction made us think it must have been abandoned since the 1990s...at least the floors and the staircases were still intact, so we managed to get some quite nice photographs.

When we went back to the car, we came across another building that belonged to the complex. The windows were also broken, but covered with foils from inside. Some windows actually seemed to be still intact.
We made our way around the building, went inside - and back outside as fast as possible. It didn't had a front door (or at least one that was kicked in) but apparently there were some Dutch squatters living there.
EXCUSE ME?! What kind of people decide to live in the middle of NOWHERE in the WOODS on the grounds of an OLD, ABANDONED SANATORIUM?!

And I thought I was a weirdo...

Trip Nach Sorge

Vor ein paar Tagen haben wir uns aufgerafft und sind in die alte Johanniter-Heilstätte nach Sorge im Harz gefahren.

1898 erbaut und bis in die 1950er Jahre als TBC-Klinik genutzt wurde sie 1968 in ein Kurheim für Grenztruppen der NVA umgewandelt. Seit 1990 durch die Bundeswehr genutzt und 1992 an den Johanniterorden zurückgegeben steht sie seit 2000 leer....

2000? Der erste Eindruck war, es stünde seit Anfang der 90er leer, so viel war zerstört...aber wenigstens waren Böden und Treppenhäuser intakt, so dass wir ein paar relativ gute Bilder hinbekamen.

Der Rückweg führte uns am einem Nebengebäude vorbei.
Auch dort waren die Scheiben eingeschlagen, jedoch von innen mit Planen verhängt. Ein paar waren auch noch komplett verschont geblieben...
Wir gingen also um das Gebäude herum, hinein und...schnell wieder raus.
Zwar hatte es keine Haustür (bzw. eine Eingetretete) jedoch eindeutig den Anschein, bewohnt zu sein - wenn auch nur von Hausbesetzern aus HOLLAND.
Was für Leute sind das, die sich mitten im Wald auf dem Gelände eines leerstehenden Sanatoriums einnisten?!

Und ich dachte ICH wäre seltsam...
